Rosewood Academy is a ministry of Life Connected Ministries. Thank you for helping this ministry exist by giving.
Follow these steps to begin enrollment:
A color photocopy of the parent/guardian's license is required (the parent who signs the forms) with each family enrollment. The copy of the license is to verify the authenticity of the parent/guardian.
Download, print and fill out the enrollment forms. These are included in the enrollment package. Scroll down to download the PDF files.
Sign all forms. Please be aware that the Church School Enrollment form has to be signed twice. The Family Information form and Request for Records form need only one signature each.
You can send a donation of $85 for new enrollment: check or money order along with the enrollment forms.
Send the copy of the license and signed forms by email or to the address provided below.
If sending forms by email, please do not send photos of the forms. We can not use photos. The quality is inconsistent and the forms do not print out well. Email scanned forms only. If a photo is sent, it will delay the enrollment process.

"Please read"
Many people begin homeschooling for various reasons; family, higher learning, preservation of values, religious concerns, life changes, health issues, conflicts of interest, advanced academics, duel enrollment, preventing persecution, poor environments, lack of concern, curriculum conflicts. We understand and support your right to choose.
If you plan on homeschooling and then return to public school read: Public school
You can begin homeschooling your student(s) at any point during the enrollment process.
Enrollment in an Alabama church school is one of the the first steps of your homeschool journey. Alabama requires that the enrollment of a child in a church school shall be filed with the local public school superintendent by the parent or guardian.
Please be aware that Rosewood does not provide books, curriculum or online courses - that responsibility is the parents/guardian. Rosewood Academy places all responsibility of the eduation of the child on the parent/guardian. Rosewood Academy is not responsible by law to ensure a/your child is learning.
You will receive the CSEF and RFR forms back by email (signed by a Rosewood Administrator). A welcome letter will accompany the enrollment forms. Read the welcome letter and follow the instructions for mailing the enrollment forms to the appropriate BOE and last school attended.
Once you receive the signed forms:
1. Make a copy of the CSEF and keep one for your records. Send a copy to the county or city BOE in your area. This step insures that the public school system knows your child is enrolled and has withdrawn.
2. Make a copy of the RFR and keep one for your records. Send a copy to the last school attended. Families coming from a homeschool program do not need to send a RFR form. This document notifies the School you are withdrawing.
3. Let RWA know if the student has been expelled or suspended. There may be additional requirements.
4. Also, let Rosewood Academy know if you plan on returning student to public school within the school year or the following school year. You need to be aware how public schools differ in their requirements for returning to public school.
**It is the parents' responsibility to deliver or mail the CSEF and RSR form to the appropriate people.
5. Plan a course of study and make goals. Allow children to help in this process. Make use of their strengths, interests and learning styles.
In our own family we have a Kinesthetic, Logic, Intrapersonal / a Kinesthetic, Verbal, Interpersonal / a Visual, Logic, Nature / a Auditory, Kinesthetic, Verbal etc.....this being the case, there is no one type of curriculum or books that would work for each of my children. After 20 years I have yet to find the golden key.
6. Create a schedule. Some things to keep in mind to work to your advantage:
Are you a morning or evening family?
Does someone in your family work an odd shift? Or odd days?
Are all your children young or High School?
Is a baby on the way?
Donna Young has a free Homeschool Planner.
7. Gather materials, books, resources, etc...
Go to the home page and click on getting started for more information.
8. Choose outside classes, extracurricular activities and/or field
trips.
There are a lot of choices for homeschoolers today!
