There is a simple process for returning students to public school after homeschooling. Please be aware there are situations when the public school may hold the student back. Some schools may require an entrance test to verify that the student was learning at the level expected for the grade they completed during homeschool. Public schools have used various curriculums thoughtout Alabama, some may use the COMMON CORE curriculum. It is our strong recomendation that you work with the guidence counselor at the school you are going to return to (if you are going to homeschool for a determined period of time) in order for the process to go smoothly as possible.

3. We recommend that you, as the parent/guardian, administer a CAT (California Achievement Test) to determine your childs placement at the end of each grade level. The CAT is a standardized test for grades k-12. It would be a very helpful in determiniting their progress. Scores are mailed to you within 2 weeks of the date they receive your returned testing materials.
For parents with a degree you can administer the IOWA Test. Rosewood Academy can help locate a proctor to administer the IOWA test.
